I had 100s of map edit requests going back to the beginning of September. 99% of them were submitted with photos of addresses on houses, or photos of street signs, etc.
It looks like they were all mass denied and “reverted” back to incorrect. I don’t understand the mission of this company if your users are submitting free data entry updates to better your product and you’re CONSTANTLY denying corrected GPS/address data without a dialogue. We’re literally making your product better.
Does Here think their data is unassailable and they’re comfortable enough charging vendors 10s of thousands of dollars for yearly licenses on data that takes 4 months to be denied when your competitors can correct these submitted problems within 1-3 days?
Your policies currently make my job harder as a delivery professional because I have to take an extra 30-60min of my time every day to manually correct your incorrect GPS pins in the mission critical applications I use that license your maps.
I need someone with literally any decision making power over there at Here to contact me directly and help me work something out to let me correct mapping data in my delivery region because I can assure you, you are stonewalling me from making your product better and more attractive.

Yep, I have heard that Garmin are very good GPS devices, and if they have up to date maps including free updates then that’s a bonus for sure. I’ll look in to a good model for the truck with a 6 inch screen and mount it so it sits on the dash in the R/H corner.
Kinda surprised though, the info I had when I bought the truck was … ” Firmware and map
updates possible via smartphone. ” .. quote/unquote from the brochure.
Thanks for your reply,

I have a 2020 vehicle with navigation maps through “Here”. The maps do not show an entire freeway that opened in 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona. So recently, I purchased the latest update SD card from here that’s dated Sept 2021. The freeway still isn’t shown on their maps! That was the only reason why I purchased the update. (I’m new to Phoenix and use my vehicle’s navigation system to get around.) Because this update is useless to me, I requested my money back. The response from “Here” is to give me a 20% credit. Credit for what? Another update that’s not up to date! Don’t waste your money updating your SD card from Here.

Here, this link map creator of yours is nothing special just the basis, if you think we users will make a better map with it you are wrong, your job is to work and earn for personal income, add to the system, everything we have done free without payment or any additional gift, IT’S YOUR WORK, give us a link map creator moderation, where there are many layers of satellite view and 100+ add-ons, it would improve the mood as well as add to the system and visible in wego here map view why most users run away from the OSM (open street map) competition because they get an img available for every day, week, month and download it to their GPS software, see the OSM link, what is all available, you get a thousand and one thing to add and improve maps,
What is additionally communicated to you, you add incorrectly to the system, various maps: Igo, Garmin, for the automotive industry the data is 9 months old and more, is that good? a lot of users added novelties, you happily deleted and added back (Roll BACK) is that fair?
You have a lot of off-road cars with a camera and program, drive around, add everything to the system, 3d buildings, POIs, speeds, house numbers, roads.
Inform other providers who buy from you to upgrade their systems to newer ones!
Compressing your data is too slow.

Hi Leo, I share your concern, my 2018 Prius came with a 2016 map and Toyota still say it is the latest.
My Garmin conversely is regularly updated, although not as often as before.
My 67,000 Mapcreator edits can be seen on my Garmin, but not on the in car unit so I have switched off the in car unit completely. Here used to even publish a Community Leader Board of those volunteers supplying update information.
What I think has happened is the car manufacturers took map updates on as a revenue stream and soon found that the free standing GPS market began sell in free map updates even cutting their own throats, so there is no incentive to supply map updates from Here.
It is a pity because the perception is that Google Phone maps are up to date being online only and Here Automotive GPS’s are seen as out of date.

Hello.
Quick background, I purchased a Subaru in 2015. I was extremely disappointed in how bad and out of date the mapping data was on the inbuilt GPS that I decided to join the HERE Map Creator community to help improve the poor mapping experience for others and myself once it was updated to my car.
After many hours, days, weeks and years of updating, I got frustrated with the length of time it would take HERE to provide the updates in Australia to car OEMs and the third party units etc., that I stopped.
Fast forward to this year, we purchased a new baby Mercedes-Benz (FYI, Daimler AG is part HERE owner) and to see the mapping data was still so out of date and so poor compared to every other mapping company was again so disappointing.
This could only be the Oceana or Australia branch or a worldwide issue or Benz AU themselves, I really don’t know, and I would love to know how it works and who’s cage I can rattle to help get these map updates out quicker and to ensure the expected quality.
Anyway, I hope this doesn’t fall on deaf ears and something will give. In the meantime, I’m back to updating HERE maps because I can’t help myself.
P.s On a side note to the HERE AU team. I have a lung disease and am currently not working. If we still own/ have them, I’m happy to borrow a HERE mapping vehicle and drive and map with it for you for a while for FREE to help out.
Cheers.

Thanks, what you’ve stated is sort of what I’ve discovered, but what’s not explainable is that the road through the village where I live is absent from a HERE map version that was supposedly created and released in 2019, but the section of road has existed for decades and the adjoining roads coming in from other local villages just come to a dead end, each side of my village. The absent road is clearly evident on google maps/earth, TomTom and other navigation aides, but not on the Here mapping. I have subsequently found out that the road is on their current mapping, which is visible online, so it’s clearly been added recently, but as you say I won’t get that until 2021 or later, but hopefully I get into before 2022, which is when my free Citroen/DS map update subscription expires! … but the lengthy delays in getting data processed and onto the end user device is understandable, but somewhat irritating!

From Äußerer Laufer Platz to Rathenauplatz (via Laufer Tor) only VAG busses and bikes are allowed. From Rathenauplatz to Laufer Tor/Äußerer Laufer Platz all traffic is free as it has been since ‘forever’.
I did change Laufer Tor to oneway in MC (as it was before Laufer Tor [and Äußerer Läufer Platz] were opened up in both directions), as I don’t see any possibility in MC to encode the information that local traffic busses and bikes are allowed in the other direction. Attached a zoom in of the picture about the traffic sign to Laufer Tor.
btw: Is there a possibilty in MC or Core Maps to encode oneway streets which are open for bikes in both directions?

Any edit that you make has to go through a moderation stage and sometimes that can take upto a few months to be looked at and approved or denied. HERE staff will change things as they have access to different satellite maps so in some cases a road you draw may not be accurate and they can be altered to the correct state.
But you also have to remember anyone can change maps so you may do an edit at say 9pm and someone else comes along and edits it at 10pm and then if you come back and then change it again there will be conflictions in edits and HERE staff may just revert things back to the base map. It get a bit more complex the more edits that are done to one location.
It is best to wait a week between edits of the same location to avoid issues.
Remember that anyone no matter where they are in the world can edit any location so sometimes there is malicious edits from say example someone in canada editing something in uk and dont know the area so no point in getting angry and have an aggressive tone. Everyone except HERE staff do map edits for free and in their own time.
Ben is the UK HERE manager so he will be able to tell what is what but you really need to give specific examples like roads names rather than a general map area
