The first movie teased the arrival of Cable in its credits scene, and the second movie's scene saw Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth cleaning up the timeline.

Deadpool & Wolverine doesn't feature a typical mid-credits scene, but instead opts to include a montage of behind-the-scenes footage from older Marvel movies. Amid shots of Jennifer Garner's Elektra and Chris Evans' Human Torch, there are interviews with Jackman talking about his early days of filming the first X-Men movie. There's also a clip of Reynolds discussing his love for the character of Deadpool while on the set of Blade: Trinity. The montage includes footage from a wide array of non-MCU Marvel movies that released before and after Marvel Studios launched their juggernaut franchise.
Every X-Men, Fantastic Four & Other Marvel Movie To Appear
Since Deadpool & Wolverine acts as a kind of swan song for the Fox Marvel movies, there are a lot of films referenced in the credits' montage footage. While it's difficult to discern exactly what movie each clip in the montage comes from, here are all the major ones referenced:

Deadpool & Wolverine Mid-Credits Scene Song Explained
The song that plays during the Deadpool & Wolverine mid-credits scene is "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" by Green Day. The song was released in December 1997, but was so popular, it became an enduring part of American culture throughout the early 2000s. Although Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong wrote the song about an ex-girlfriend, it has since become more synonymous with nostalgia and reflecting on the past. For this reason, it was played at many proms and graduations across the world during the 90s and 00s.

The legacy of "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" as a nostalgic and reflective song, as well as the time at which it was released, makes it a perfect fit for the Marvel movie BTS montage. Not only does the song fit the tone, but it'll be familiar and tug at the heartstrings of any viewers who grew up watching the movies referenced. Altogether, the montage works as a farewell to the Fox Marvel franchise, essentially wiping the slate clean for what Marvel Studios has planned for the X-Men, Fantastic Four and Blade in the MCU.

Deadpool & Wolverine Post-Credits Scene Explained: Language!
Deadpool Uses TVA Technology To Set The Record Straight

Earlier in Deadpool & Wolverine, when the heroes first wake up in the Void, they come across Chris Evans playing a Marvel character - who turns out to be Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, from Fox's 2000s Fantastic Four movies. However, when the three are confronted by Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), Deadpool tells her a long litany of insults Johnny apparently said about her behind her back. Cassandra proceeds to tear the skin off Johnny's body, leaving him to collapse in a heap of bones and organs.
Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer are available to stream on Disney+.

Throughout the rest of the movie, Wolverine blames Deadpool for Johnny's death, and it's implied Wade made up all those insults. However, in the Deadpool & Wolverine post-credits scene, Deadpool is in the TVA, and he uses their monitors to roll tape that shows Johnny Storm spouting a bunch of foul-mouthed insults about Cassandra Nova on the way to her headquarters. So, it's not that Deadpool made up the insults that got Johnny killed, it's just that he told Cassandra exactly what Human Torch said - which still got him killed.
Although the scene is ostensibly meant to clear Deadpool of the accusations hurled at him by Wolverine throughout the movie, it really just confirms that he wasn't putting words in Johnny's mouth. Deadpool still very much got Johnny Storm killed by telling Cassandra Nova what he said. There was no real reason for him to do it, because it didn't even really help him or Wolverine escape the villain. Still, the scene has a deeper, more fun meaning for MCU viewers.

Chris Evans Swearing Calls Back To Avengers: Age Of Ultron
In Avengers: Age of Ultron, the team is on a mission when Iron Man swears over the comms. In response, Chris Evans' Captain America scolds him with a single word: "Language." That one line has since taken on a life of its own among fans, who enjoy quoting it not just to each other, but Evans himself. It's MCU canon that Evans' Marvel superhero doesn't swear - so seeing the actor's other character saying the most vile things is a perfect callback. It sets Johnny Storm apart from Steve Rogers, and makes excellent use of Deadpool & Wolverine's R rating.

Can Chris Evans Return As Human Torch Despite His Death?
It isn't confirmed that the variant of the Human Torch killed in Deadpool & Wolverine is the exact same as the version from Fox's Fantastic Four movies. The costume he wears is different, as is the Fantastic Four logo, so it's possible he's a variant from another universe. The MCU has established that the same actor can play multiple variants in addition to multiple actors playing variants of the same character. All that's to say, there could still be another version of Johnny Storm that Evans could play in the future, even as the MCU introduces their new Fantastic Four.

Deadpool And Wolverine Could Still Return In A Future MCU Movie

In the early days of the MCU and more recently in Phases 4 and 5, Marvel Studios movies have included a final text screen that teases the return of one of the characters. For example, Thor: Love & Thunder teased "Thor will return," Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness teased "Doctor Strange will return," and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 teased "Star-Lord will return." However, Deadpool & Wolverine didn't confirm Deadpool or Wolverine's return in the MCU. That's not necessarily confirmation they won't - The Marvels also didn't tease a specific character's return - it just hasn't been teased.
Both Deadpool and Wolverine are alive at the end of the movie, so it's possible they can return in another MCU movie, with the most likely being Avengers 5 and/or Avengers: Secret Wars. Both movies are expected to deal with the multiverse, and cap off the MCU's Multiverse Saga in an exciting fashion. If that's the case, Deadpool and Wolverine could easily return. Ultimately, Deadpool & Wolverine leaves its titular heroes' futures open-ended, so even though their returns aren't confirmed, they could still happen.
